Jovanna + Jess |Sunset Beach Engagement Session
When Jovanna contacted me to photograph her engagement session with Jess I was super excited! Me and Jovanna were friends in middle school so it was so great to catch up and hear how wonderful her life is going!
It was a beautiful sunny day when we headed to Jetty Park Beach to capture their engagement. The sun was so glowy and then turned into one of the prettiest sunsets I’ve seen in a long time. We had such a great time during their session, we laughed a lot and they made my job so easy! You could definitely see and feel the connection these two shared for each other!
How it all started….
Jovanna and Jess met through a mutual friend 8 years ago. Jovanna said it almost felt like meeting each other was deja vu like they have been together in a past life before.
They quickly bonded over the fact that they both are originally from Long Island, New York and had a big Italian family. They shared the same values and both wanted a big family of their own in the future. They also felt an intriguing soul connection immediately (totally noticed 😍)
Jovanna and Jess love creating art, building new things, and spending time with their cats(fellow cat mom over here 😻). They once built a fire pit for Jovannas mom, and their most recent project is creating their she-shed in their backyard! However, their true guilty pleasure is sharing a tub of sorbet while watching Vanderpump Rules.
How Jess Proposed….
Jovanna and Jess were in Tennessee on a romantic Christmas break getaway, and the day after they got stuck in their car overnight because the roads were covered in snow and ice, Jess proposed to Jovanna in their cozy cabin next to a Christmas tree with a beautiful view of the mountains. Jovanna also proposed to Jess later on that night, which took her by complete surprise….Ok, is this a real life Hallmark movie 😍? I just love that story!
Fun Fact...
Jovanna and Jess are both Star Wars nerds(words of Jovanna’s don’t come for me)! Jess is the organized one, super athletic and loves living life on the edge. Jovanna said she is definitely more of the crocheting and reading a book with a cup of tea type of gal. Jess makes Jovanna’s lunch for work every day and will put cute notes in her lunchbox (how stinking sweet is that). Both of their families got along so well that they now spend holidays and special events altogether, Jovanna said it is an amazing, loving feeling and we are truly blessed.
